Lawrence Rebbecchi, Jr., VMD
Dr. Lawrence Rebbecchi graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with his VMD in 1990. He has always had a love for pets and animals since he was a child, and he saw veterinary medicine as an opportunity to combine his love of animals with his ability to plainly communicate and educate pet parents. He is very proud to have built up a successful practice, and he finds it very rewarding that the community trusts his compassionate and empathetic care that he has been delivering for nearly 30 years in his practice at Philadelphia Animal Hospital.
In addition to his work at the practice, Dr. Rebbecchi is also the veterinarian in charge of caring for the Philadelphia Police TSA Explosives Unit at Philadelphia International Airport, as well as providing care for all the canines that work at the airport. He has also served as the veterinarian in charge at national competitions for working dogs.
Dr. Rebbecchi has three grown daughters, Adria, Daria, and Vittoria. Daria, his middle daughter, will be graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2020 with her VMD and will join the practice! His family has also included many pets over the years. Currently, he has many dogs and cats at home as well as retired thoroughbred race horses. He has also raised goats and cattle at his home in South Jersey. When he is not at work, he enjoys spending time with family, vacationing on the West Coast of Florida, and caring for his horses at his home in New Jersey.
Andy Henry, VMD
Dr. Andy Henry earned his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, he completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine at Tufts University. Dr. Henry grew up with his family’s yellow Lab who gifted them every day with unwavering love and loyalty. He became a veterinarian with the goal of giving back to pets for everything they do for us on a daily basis. As a vet, he feels the most rewarding part of his career is being able to be a source of knowledge and compassion for patients and clients during difficult times in their lives.
Dr. Henry has three pets of his own including Wesley, a small mixed breed dog and two orange cats named Mac and Dee. In his spare time, he enjoys running, napping with his cats, and collecting basketball cards. You might also catch him watching his beloved Philadelphia 76ers.
Felipe Garcia, VMD
Dr. Felipe Garcia earned his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. Growing up, Dr. Garcia always had a job involving animals. After graduating high school, he worked at a zoo in Miami for 7 years. Then, he started working at the Philadelphia Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician and one day, he was asked to step in to translate for a Spanish-speaking client during an appointment. It was then that he realized he had something special to offer to the profession, and after that summer, he knew he was meant to become a veterinarian. After graduating from vet school, he came back to Philadelphia Animal Hospital as a doctor. Dr. Garcia is proud to be able to conduct appointments entirely in Spanish, which brings relief to many of his clients! Without a Spanish speaking vet, he believes that many families would not otherwise bring their pets in for a visit, so he finds it incredibly rewarding to be able to offer this service.
Dr. Garcia’s parents are from Mexico and Cuba, and he is the first generation of his family born and raised in Miami. His success as a veterinarian has a lot to do with the sacrifices his mother made so that he could achieve his dream of finishing vet school. His greatest life accomplishment was being able to give a shout out to his mom during his vet school graduation speech, thanking her for all she’d done. He hopes to one day be able to buy her a house as a token of his appreciation.
Dr. Garcia has two Chihuahuas at home in Miami with his parents and he has one cat named Morty, the orange tabby, whom he recently adopted from the Philadelphia Animal Hospital. In his spare time, he plays beach volleyball, which he has been playing since middle school. He has competed in several tournaments and is currently in a city league!
